Cuba visa policy
As of July 1, 2025, Cuba has officially replaced its long-standing tourist card system with a mandatory electronic visa (e-Visa) for all international travelers, marking a significant modernization of its entry procedures. The new e-Visa system streamlines the application process by allowing travelers to apply online through the official eVisaCuba portal, eliminating the need for physical documents and consulate visits. Once approved, the e-Visa permits a single entry and a stay of up to 90 days, with the possibility of a one-time extension for an additional 90 days while in Cuba, totaling a maximum stay of 180 days.
Under the updated visa policy, most foreign nationals are required to obtain an e-Visa prior to arrival, with the exception of Canadian citizens traveling directly from Canada, whose e-Visas are automatically included in their airline tickets due to existing agreements with Canadian carriers. Travelers must also complete the mandatory D’Viajeros form within seven days before arrival, which collects essential health, customs, and immigration information; a QR code generated upon completion must be presented upon entry. Additionally, all visitors are required to have a passport valid for at least six months beyond their entry date, proof of travel insurance covering medical expenses, and a return or onward flight ticket.
